Tone Deaf Studios’ first permanent New York home at 59 Orchard Street brings Karachi and the Lower East Side into conversation. Designed by Mustafa Ahmed with Maurizio Bianchi Mattioli and Studio MBM, the flagship preserves the building’s cast-iron columns and pressed-tin ceilings while introducing forms inspired by Mughal architecture.
At the rear, a wall of 196 individually hand-stained pieces of glass anchors the space in color. The glass was produced by one of Pakistan’s oldest manufacturers, whose craft dates back to the Mughal period, in a village neighboring the one where our Ajrakh hand-block-printed jackets are made.
The opening coincides with Flowers for Fall, our Fall/Winter 2026 collection developed over months in Karachi. Sustainable denim, hand-beaded embroidery, and Ajrakh block printing come together through bright color, weathered texture, and natural dye. Conceived as a bouquet for the opening of our first New York home, the collection turns craft and contradiction into a celebration of arrival.
